Ozzy Osbourne’s Surprising Revelation About Eddie Van Halen: “He asked me if I wanted to sing”
Ozzy Osbourne recalls the time Eddie Van Halen invited him to sing for Van Halen.
Heavy metal godfather Ozzy Osbourne was having a chat with Billy Morrison for another episode of the Ozzy Speaks show on SiriusXM radio. In the conversation, Ozzy recalled Eddie Van Halen's unusual invitation to join his band.
“He phoned me up one time and asked me if I wanted to sing in his band — way after Sammy Hagar [had left the band]. I think he was a bit drunk. We've all done one of them”
The latest episode of Ozzy Speaks aired yesterday, October 22nd, and is available in its entirely through the SiriusXM app. The show will be also broadcast via Ozzy's Boneyard over the weekend.
Unfortunately Ozzy did not join VAN HALEN and Gary Cherone (Extreme) became the vocalist for the band, recording only one album, "Van Halen III", released in 1998.

Earlier this year, Ozzy revealed that he has no plans to retire…
Ozzy Osbourne, former Black Sabbath lead singer, has again made it clear that he will not retire from music. Despite starting his second farewell tour, "No More Tours II", in April 2018, the singer made it clear that he does not intend to stop.
In other interviews, he had already said that the tour in question would be the last of the "big world tours", as he does not want to be away from the family too long. Now, during an interview with The Mirror, he reinforced that he does not intend to stop before he dies.
Ozzy Osbourne says: “You know the time when I will retire? When I can hear them nail a lid on my box. And then I’ll f***ing do an encore. I’m the Prince of Darkness.” Ozzy also added “When you feel that audience jumping, it’s a better feeling than orgasm. It is the best love affair of my life. The party is on, man. I feel honored people still want to see me.”
