Michael Sweet (Stryper) Shares Sad Truth About Cardi B’s Hit Song: “It’s Garbage”
Michael Sweet, the lead singer of Stryper, is definitely not a Cardi B fan and had some harsh comments about her music. During an interview on the Cobras and Fire podcast, earlier this week, Michael had some strong words about the Cardi B’s song “WAP”.
"I don't wanna come across like a prude or someone that is closed-minded but I just find it interesting how, here we are in 2020 fighting for women's rights, as we should be, and you've got videos like that. There's a time when it's not about judging — it's just about what's right and what's wrong. … I don't want that garbage going into my granddaughter's ears."
Earlier this month, Michael had already expressed his distaste for the Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion song. Michael wrote on Facebook:
“Call me old fashioned but when I think of my grandkids listening to this and singing along to this piece of 💩 I get a little heated. Why do we work so hard for equal rights and respect (especially for woman as we should!) yet we make a pile like this #1 and step backwards instead of forward? Am I being harsh?? Am I the only one who feels this way???
Anything goes now and we’re completely desensitized folks. Absolutely pathetic......”
