Elon Musk Says Implant Will Stream Music Directly Into the Brain
Elon Musk suggested, this past Sunday July 19th, that the brain implants developed by his startup Neuralink will be able to play music directly in the user's brain. When asked about the possibility by a computer scientist on Twitter, the company's co-founder answered "yes" without offering more details about the technology.
Created in 2016, Neuralink intends to develop a brain-machine interface to establish a symbiosis between humans and computers. The company's solutions promise to assist patients with neurological syndromes, such as Parkinson's disease. Musk, however, has already indicated that the startup's technology also promises to match the ability of humans with advanced artificial intelligence.
On Twitter a user named Austin Howard asked Elon: “If we implement neuralink - can we listen to music directly from our chips? Great feature.” which Elon promptly responded: “If you’ve solved hard problems with phones / wearables (sealing, signal processing, inductive charging, power mgmt, etc), please consider working at engineering@neuralink.com”
