Dexter returns with 10 episodes in limited series, 7 years after the last season.
TV show "Dexter" will get another 10 episodes 7 years after the last season.
The announcement was made by Showtime on Tuesday (14). The new episodes will resume the story of serial killer Dexter Morgan from the point where the series stopped in season eight in 2013. Actor Michael C. Hall returns to play the serial killer who works as a forensic analyst on the series created by Clyde Phillips.
"Dexter" had eight seasons between 2006 and 2013 and was an audience success. Michael C. Hall won the Golden Globe for best actor in a drama series for his role in 2010.
Production is scheduled to begin in January 2021 and the premiere is expected to take place at the end of next year.
The new season, which can be considered a soft-reboot, will begin precisely after the end of the eighth season.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime Entertainment president Gary Levine said that "Dexter is such a special series, both for its millions of fans and for Showtime, as this breakthrough show helped put our network on the map many years ago,"
He continues: “We would only revisit this unique character if we could find a creative take that was truly worth of the brilliant, original series. Well, I am happy that Clyde Phillips and Michael C. Hall have found it, and we can’t wait to shoot it and show it to the world.”
