Argentinian Soccer Legend Diego Maradona Dies At 60 Years Old
Diego Maradona Passes Away at 60 years old
Diego Armando Maradona died this Wednesday. The 60-year-old Argentine star, who was a major star on the pitch, died after being hospitalized last October with a brain hemorrhage. Maradona had left the hospital but this Wednesday ended up suffering a heart attack that was mortal. Maradona was released from the hospital on November 12 and was being treated for his alcohol dependency in a recovery clinic in Buenos Aires.
The genius was considered one of the best soccer players of all time and also one of the most controversial on and off the pitch. Several of the best plays in the history of world football are his. The speed combined with the intelligence of the little 'D10S' - as he was known - made him one of the best of all time.
El Pibe de Oro lived the best moments of his career at the service of the Italians of Napoli in the late 1980s, where he won the only two titles in Italy.
But one of his most memorable moments came during the 1986 World Cup match against England. Maradona used his left hand - later to be called “hand of god” - to score the goal that would defeat the English national team.
