Legendary Australian rockers AC/DC just released their 18th studio album “Power Up” and it’s already a gigantic success. The album debuted at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart in the UK with the biggest first-week sales + streaming of 2020 so far.

Having sold 62,000 units in only 1 week, AC/DC take the top spot of the 2020 leaderboard of fastest-selling albums, overtaking Kylie Minogue who racked up 55,000 chart sales with her latest record “DISCO” last week. Kylie’s record sits at number 5 this week.

After receiving the news, the legendary guitar player Angus Young stated the following:

“A very big thank you to everyone who put in their time, effort and creativity to get PWR/UP to Number 1! Also a big shoutout to all our fans, old and new. You are, and always have been, our guiding inspiration”.

AC/DC announced their reunion a few months ago

The official announcement is here! AC/DC are back and bassist Cliff Williams, drummer Phil Rudd and lead singer Brian Johnson have officially returned to the band. Cliff Williams had officially retired from the band in 2017 while Brian Johnson had to leave in 2016 (being replaced shortly after by Axl Rose) due to hearing loss and Phill Rudd was replaced by Chris Slade in 2015.

There had been many rumors going around claiming that AC/DC were set to make a huge announcement on social media this week. Some said the band was set to announce a new album, others claimed Brian Johnson was back as the lead singer but before today’s announcement no one really knew what was going on.

Now, a few minutes ago, AC/DC shared a new photo on their social media profiles that confirms the band’s line-up changes.

Earlier this week, AC/DC has uploaded an enigmatic video teasing an announcement.
