Sharon Osbourne and Dita Von Teese react to the Marilyn Manson Accusations
There have been several reactions to the Marilyn Manson situation this week with many well known personalities who've been associated with the musician weighing in. Longtime rock manager, wife of Ozzy Osbourne, and The Talk co-host Sharon Osbourne shared her experiences with Manson during Wednesday's edition of The Talk on CBS.
Let’s remember that earlier this week, Manson has called the allegations against him "horrible distortions of reality" in a statement, adding, "My intimate relationships have always been entirely consensual with like-minded partners. Regardless of how — and why — others are now choosing to misrepresent the past, that is the truth."
Sharon said the following:
“I’ve known Marilyn for 25 years. I’ve worked with him for many, many years, and, obviously, I would not know what goes on in his bedroom; neither do I want to. But as far as people who’ve been going on all my socials, calling me names and things and putting up pictures of Marilyn and I, you know, there’s something called a working relationship, and that’s what I’ve had with Marilyn for many years. I know nothing about his sexual preferences or the way he treats women. I know how he treats an older woman, which is me, and he’s always been respectful.”
On the other hand, Burlesque dancer and lingerie designer Dita Von Teese, who was married to Marilyn Manson between 2005 and 2007, says she is still "processing the news" regarding the recent abuse allegations made against the singer.
Dita wrote on Instagram:
"I have been processing the news that broke Monday regarding Marilyn Manson," the statement began. "To those who have expressed your concerns of my well-being, I appreciate your kindness.
"Please know that the details made public do not match my personal experience during our 7 years together as a couple," she continued. "Had they, I would not have married him in December 2005. I left 12 months later due to infidelity and drug abuse."
"Abuse of any kind has no place in any relationship. I urge those of you who have incurred abuse to take steps to heal and the strength to fully realize yourself"
Von Teese concluded: "This is my sole statement on this matter. Thank you for respecting this request."
Marilyn has yet to address Dita's remarks about their marriage, but this isn't the first time she's blamed their breakup on the artist's controversial ways.
In a 2007 interview with The Daily Telegraph, the pinup model accused Marilyn of having an "inappropriate relationship" with another woman during their marriage.
"I get the impression he thinks I was unsupportive," she noted at the time. "But the truth is I wasn't supportive of his lifestyle, and someone else came along who was."
Manson has yet to react to any of these comments. We’ll keep you updated on further developments.
