Whitesnake’s David Coverdale Announces Plans For Farewell Tour

David Coverdale, founder of Whitesnake and former member of Deep Purple (1973-1976), revealed that he hopes to do a farewell tour soon and is waiting for the world’s situation to go back to normal in order to do a final tour.

The iconic frontman of Whitesnake, David Coverdale, chatted with Marci Wiser, from radio 95.5 KLOS, where he commented, among so many subjects, the crisis generated by the pandemic of the new Coronavirus.

“I was hoping to be able to do my farewell tour, my gratitude tour at 69. What better age for the singer of Whitesnake to retire than 69? I’m already designing the t-shirts.”

David added: “Making this incredible pandemic a political issue is the most ridiculous thing I can imagine. We’re never gonna get out. I’m never gonna be able to do my fucking farewell tour. C’mon, wear a fucking mask, so we can go out again.”

It is worth remembering that last June, record company Rhino Records released a Whitesnake compilation, entitled The Rock Album, where several Whitesnake songs were remixed and remastered. This record is part of the Red, White and Blues trilogy, which will be divided as follows: Love Songs (Red), The Rock Album (White) and The Blues Album (Blue).

“All the songs were remixed and remastered. Some of these songs have been retouched where Michael McIntyre [producer], Christopher Collier [mixing] and I think it is appropriate or necessary to make them even better ".

“The Rock Album” covers three decades of Whitesnake's career, featuring themes from the albums Slide It In (1984), Slip Of The Tongue (1989), Whitesnake (1987), Restless Heart (1997) Good To Be Bad (2008) and Forevermore (2011).
