The life and career of Lemmy Kilmister, legendary vocalist and bassist of Motörhead who died in the last days of 2015, will be the subject of a film in a biopic format, the same used in recent features such as "Bohemian Rhapsody" (Queen) and "Rocketman" (Elton John), among others.

The information was revealed by the website "Deadline", which provided more details about the film’s production.

According to the publication, the film will be titled only "Lemmy". Greg Olliver is the chosen director, the same one who directed the documentary "Lemmy: 49% motherf ** ker. 51% son of a bitch", from 2010.

The script will be signed by Medeni Griffiths. Motörhead's manager Todd Singerman will serve as executive producer. No name of the cast, not even the actor who will play Kilmister, has been revealed so far.

Also according to the website, production will start in the first months of 2021, depending on the restrictions imposed by the pandemic of the new coronavirus, through VMI Worldwide. The idea is to present it at the Festival de Cannes virtual market, one of the most popular in the cinema industry. The feature film will chronicle Lemmy's entire trajectory, from his youth in Stoke-on-Trent, through work as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix and as a member of the band Hawkwind, until reaching Motörhead.

The group led by Kilmister was created in 1975 and is regarded as one of the most influential names in the history of heavy metal, with classic records and more than 15 million copies sold worldwide.

Lemmy Kilmister left us on December 28, 2015, at the age of 70, due to a series of health problems. He dealt with diabetes for years and was diagnosed with prostate cancer two days before he passed away. The tumor was listed as one of the causes of his death - he also suffered from arrhythmia and heart failure.
